First Impression: Lamborghini Gallardo LP570-4 Super Trofeo Stradale

There have been many special editions of the Lamborghini Gallardo. There has been the Gallardo Superleggera, Gallardo LP550-2 Valetino Balboni, Gallardo LP570-4 Spyder Performante, Bicolore, Tricolore, and Nera Coupe. Now, Lamborghini has come out with the Gallardo LP570-4 Super Trofeo Stradale.

I recently was the Super Trofeo at the January 2012 edition of Cars and Coffee. There were several Gallardos and Gallardo Superleggeras at the event, but none of them stood out like the Super Trofeo. The featured car of the event has a special location. Past cars parked here include the Lamborghini Aventador and Ferrari Enzo. The Super Trofeo has a few exterior features that help it stand out from other Gallardos. The Super Trofeo has a more aggressive front end, a rear wing that is more aggressive than the wing on Superleggera, and a slitted carbon fiber hood instead of a glass hood. Theses modifications gives the Super Trofeo a very aggressive styling, and I love cars with aggressive styling. The Super Trofeo styling is more aggressive than the Superleggera styling. And the Super Trofeo is rare. Only 150 Super Trofeos will be built. This is no ordinary Gallardo, something I did not notice the first time I saw this car. For a featured car, the Super Trofeo did not get that much attention. The Enzo and Aventador had people swarming them. People were not swarming the Super Trofeo. They might have thought it was just another special edition Gallardo.

The Super Trofeo is powere by a 5.2L V10 engine, paired with a six-speed e-gear semi-automatic transmission, that produces 562 hp and 398 ft-lb of torque. It goes from 0 to 60 mph in 3.4 seconds and reaches a top speed of 198 mph. The Super Trofeo is quickest Gallardo, it has one of the lowest top speeds. The Super Trofeo has the same top speed as the different Gallardo LP550-2 versions. The base price for the Super Trofeo is around $250,000. The base Gallardo LP560-4 starts around $202,000 and is faster (top speed of 202 mph) than the Super Trofeo. The Super Trofeo is rare, aggressive, and very quick. For a Gallardo, $250,000 is expensive.

Final Thought: The Gallardo Super Trofeo Stradale is a Gallardo race car that you can legally drive on the streets. It is the best looking Gallardo that has been built. It is better looking that the Gallardo LP570-4 Superleggera and I love the styling of the Superleggera. The Super Trofeo is very quick but it cannot go over 200 mph like other Gallardos. The Super Trofeo is rare. Only 150 will be built. The Super Trofeo will be expensive for what it is. It is expected to cost $250,000. That is expensive for what it is. For $220,000 you can get a Ferrari 458 Italia, which has a top speed for 202 mph. For $237,600, you can get a Gallardo Superleggera that has a top speed of 202 mph. There are cars out there that are cheaper and perform better than the Gallardo Super Trofeo Stradale. However, the Gallardo Super Trofeo Stradale is rarer and more exclusive than the Gallardo Superleggera or the 458 Italia. If you want a very exclusive, very quick, fast supercar with aggressive styling, then the Lamborghini Gallardo Super Trofeo Stradale is a good buy at $250,000. If you do not want a rare or eclusive Lamborghini, then you should go with the Gallardo Superleggera.
